UVAS SCANNING MIRROR MECHANISM FOR UVAS INSTRUMENT
2016 - 2018 | CSIC
Design, validation, installation, rotary mirror and window shutter mechanisms tests for the UVAS instrument (Ultraviolet and Visible Atmospheric Sounder).
The UVAS mission aims to provide global maps in high spatial resolution of density columns of trace gases and aerosols related to air quality, ocean emissions and climate change. Compared to other previous and contemporary sensors, UVAS differs by emphasizing the local and regional scale with an unprecedented spatial resolution, thus opening a new window to observation from space of processes in the Earth's atmosphere so far not observed.
AVS has manufactured and verified the following elements:
- Rotary mirror, in the form of a qualification model that will then be updated to a flight model.
- Two window shutter mechanisms, in the form of rating models that will then be updated to flight models.
