The beam collimator/scraper is a compact device for the Medium Energy Beam Transport Line (MEBT), which operates a 5 MeV, 125 mA peak, DC:0.01 ion beam at the fusion energy demonstrator IFMIF/EVEDA.

The device consists of two pairs of water-cooled copper jaws and can collimate the beam to form an aperture between 50mm and 8mm.

These slits operate under UHV conditions in a 0.1T magnetic field, and feature a positioning accuracy better than 10μm.
