RFQ Radiofrequency Quadrupole Acceleration Line
2016 | ESS Bilbao
The RF quadrupole acceleration line is a complex structure made in oxygen-free, high conductivity copper C10100. It features 5 sections, each made of 2 pairs of major and minor vanes. The modulation on the vanes forms the proton bunches that are converged and focused to further accelerate them at the Beam Transport unit of the Linear Particle Accelerator.
Working pressure: designed for UHV and higher vacuum environments.
