SAXS FOR SIRIUS SAXS for SIRIUS Project
2019 | LNLS
Vacuum Tank, carriage and detectors positioning systems Design and Manufacturing.
This project consists of the design, development and supply of the SAXS instrument for the LNLS in Brazil, delivery includes the high precision three axis inside to move a 2-tonne carriage detector and the 33 meter long 2 meter diameter vacuum tank. The tube is made of AISI 304L stainless steel.
This device is a Small Angle X-Ray Scattering vacuum vessel with 3 axes operating in vacuum for the Brazilian Synchrotron Light Laboratory (LNLS). The tube, of 33m long and 2m in diameter (5 sections of 6.6m long each) has been manufactured, aligned and assembled by AVS. For the manufacture of the equipment only UHV compatible materials have been used for in-vacuum parts. The instrument is a 4 tonne 3 axis machine: one 30m length axis, one 450mm transversal axis and one 700mm vertical axis.
Vacuum: operating pressure 10-3mbar, leak rate < 10-8mbar*L/s.
